We use DynamoDb where I am now, and we used it as the primary data for several parts when I was leading the team back at Shazam. For me it’s not about schema-less, or wild promises or whatever else - NoSql solutions are just another tool in the box. One thing I think they’ve definitely done is change the way people think about using a traditional RDMBS rather than as something storing 3rd/4th/5th normal form data
