I think announcing improbable backends has the most value. Like Kotlin / Cobol or some of the above suggestions. Or language enhancements of dubious value (maybe a set of changes that makes it look like Swift, ie. guard statements, only one ! for null assertions. If you could get buy-in from the Swift team they could announce a set of changes to make it look more like Kotlin which could be pretty amusing).
