@gildor just drawing a parallel 🙂 I personally feel there's a wonderful use for functional-thinking in OOP and we ought to make more room for it - I think Kotlin does a great job adding more power in that regards (and we gotta give a hand to Java 8 for allowing the ability to add those foldable funcitons for it)
