Once when I was ReSharper lead, we had a report from a big customer about very slow ReSharper or even hard crashes on certain operations. Since we couldn’t have access to their systems, we agreed to have a remote WinDbg session via a messenger. I sent messages to someone with windbg commands, they would execute them locally, and send me output back. We spent few days in this very entertaining process… When we found it, it was failing proxy autoconfiguration script (which is a JS program running in a sandboxed .NET environment), causing double exceptions and failing process. Sometimes issues are very weird…
