As someone who's inexperienced with Scala, I've grown to admire Scala through those experienced with Scala in the Kotlin community. It's shocking to see such toxicity after spending time in the Kotlin community--where everyone comes with experience in some other language or platform and bring their own perspectives, language proposals, and improvements.
