that might be controversial, but i don't think you can counter that argument well. all higher level programming languages are "just" a nicer syntax for machine code, but there's a reason we don't use it... for me it's a modern java that was made 20 years later that could learn a lot from the mistakes of the early days and also provides concepts other newer languages introduced
