Right. So if you imagine “Kotlin is Java 2.0”. Eventually in 10-20 years if the JVM is still relevant and Kotlin is as successful as Java there will be some successor to Kotlin that fixes the perceived flaws while breaking backwards compatibility. That said I’m not sure this will always be the case because there are languages like C++ which just seem to keep on existing without an obvious successor.
