I only knew about 4 of the 6, and I’m reasonably politically engaged =p The issue is that it probably takes hundreds of millions of dollars to run for the presidency. Buying ads, making sure to have enough coverage by the press, ideally taking part in the presidential debates. And there are serious chicken or egg issues with raising the amounts of money required for a presidential run as a 3rd party candidate. Going directly for the presidency without having any representatives in congress is also kind of pointless. Purely speculation, but think that it’s easier (cheaper) to hijack an existing party's policies than it is to fund the creation of a new party and actually get people elected even at the state level, let alone at the national level.
