yep, which is why I took issue with Perry's statement of "but if it's on the jvm, scala is typicallky the right tool". Because that might be true for someone who is seasoned in Scala, but realistically, you have to play nice with your team, and so Scala is rarely the right tool in my opinion. Sure, the features might be a near-superset of Kotlin's (with a few exceptions that are unique to Kotlin), but if you're just going for features and power, why not write everything in C++?
