The web developers it's targeted at run java and most startups are using other languages like JavaScript (node.js) and Python (Django/flask) and Ruby (Rails).
Unless you mean client side where they mostly use JavaScript and the gazillion other frameworks. JavaScript also has Typescript now so it sucks less 😉
