It can be. Gotta tinker with it to make it work for you; as soon as it starts being overbearing, time to take a second look. Maybe you're having it create things it shouldn't, or bind stuff too early. Maybe something's just too much of a pain to instantiate through DI, and you prefer setting up a construction pattern instead.
