"No more elegant than Scala"... I guess he means because it's more verbose, but more explicit -> more readable, and I view that as elegant in itself. There's a reason Scala hasn't defeated Java despite being around for over a decade. It's unreadable and clever for the sake of being clever

Not a whole lot more powerful than Java 8... but Java 8 has no default params, named params, data classes, extension functions, top-level functions, inlined functions, sealed classes... and tons more

Worse than Ceylon in every way... except that I can actually use Kotlin in production 🙂
