Rasmus' very 'philosophy' of development, combined with the titanic slew of flawed design decisions in that post, indicates that this is an individual who considered PHP to be some sort of personal toolkit.  Anytime there's an arbitrary need, just slap another function on the language core API and call it good, without any sort of forward-thinking design or engineering or quality decisions.  Is that a language you wish to entrust your codebase to? A mentality you would use tools based on?
