Opinion. This is for the Objective-c developers and for their world it is exactly new. There is also few features from the perspective of java world, say protocol extension and especially constraints of extensions. Yep we have it all at Kotlin in some way. But not in Java or Objective-C/Swift before. So yes it's new.
