@redrield Like internally, i.e. replacing for loop operations with stream and doing collect(toList()) at the end? Reason: there would be no way for kotlin-stdlib-jre8 depend on kotlin-stdlib, because of 2 implementations of the same functions, so someone would have to maintain 2 huge artifacts / codebases. There would be no performance benefit or maybe even there would be a little overhead compared to loop.
Or externally, so you can chain map.filter and it would use single stream with one collection(toList()) at the end?
Reason: the collections API would have to change.
If you want to use streams, use streams. There are extension functions to switch between them and collections api easily.
