<@U27V38GTW> Spring Roo served its purpose 5 years ago when we started using Spring, I think it outlived its usefulness, looking back, the generated pom file and all that aspecJ is just terrible.
Some of those legacy projects just never changed, then as a result of introducing Kotlin, we started experimenting doing stuff without spring and it’s actually quite nice. Spring makes Java much more bearable, Kotlin + VertX, in our case, caters for everything we need.
