When 1.1.0 RC goes final, what will happen to 1.0....

When 1.1.0 RC goes final, what will happen to 1.0.6? Will it continue to get updates or will that be 1.0’s final version?
We’re currently using 1.0.6 on a very legacy Java6 codebase that will get scrapped at some point, but we can’t rewrite it anytime soon.
Since 1.1.0 will only work with Java8, I’m just wondering what the implications will be and how long 1.0.6 will still be supported.
