and detaching it from the field definition to put it in an init block only creates distance between crucial related pieces of information. some of my data classes have 11 fields and I don't believe it's because of poor modeling (then again, only been writing kotlin for 2 weeks); I don't want my field declaration and its constraints to be 12 lines apart.
