@cypher121: my simple rule of thumb is, only use receiver lambdas when the receiver you pass into it is the same as the receiver you called the method on.

good:

inline fun Foo.applyTransaction(block: Foo.() -> Unit)  {
    beginTransaction()
    block()

}

bad:
