To be clear, I agree it looks a bit complex, but we don’t see how can we simplify this. 1.1 is already being planned/designed (language requires a lot of effort for every feature), so `x.y` is already taken completely. Now what we have is everything after `x.y` and that’s pretty much just one number. And we need planning for various scopes, like new IDE features, bugfixes, various improvements for Android, Spring, whatever else. We need to plan them upfront. And we also seem to need versions for critical out-of-band patches. If you have better ideas, other than 1.0.1-1, please share.
