02/02/2016, 9:31 PMComputer languages have become much more sophisticated since 1970 when I learned BASIC. Some languages, like C++, seem to be designed for the purpose of helping us screw up. Java was a huge improvement over C++ in reducing the amount of tangly rope we could hang ourselves with. While not as bad as C++, Scala adds a lot of tangly rope to the language. My hope with Kotlin is the tangly rope is minimized.
