I had brought this up privately, but it’s still happening, so I think it’s time to ask for a community perspective. I appreciate efforts to tidy-up StackOverflow answers, but I think that this is going too far.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/34738702/is-there-a-way-to-construct-a-hashset-with-initializator-function-in-kotlin was a perfectly reasonable question, but instead of just taking it at face value and answering it, we downvoted it, told the questioner off for having the temerity to ask it, voted to close it, harangued the question with 5 disrespectful comments and then posted 2 answers saying you are asking the wrong question.
