While Android adoption is great, I think it would be a mistake to focus all efforts there for various reasons. 

1. If Google make a move to provide Java 8 or other language, it can tank.

2. Even if it becomes the adopted language independent of Google, it will feel like it's just a niche for android. Big niche but still a niche. 

3. It really undermines a lot of the value the language has for all types of platforms and apps. 

While all the focus on Android is fantastic, I think we shouldn't drop the guard on other things. And start to push other things too.
