Adoption in big companies or even big projects like Vert.x does have a wall. Android is a way around the wall for some projects. And others will just be slow. I think there needs to be constant momentum and growth, no big bang. Unless Google comes out and Say "screw Java, you a should use Kotlin on Android, we do." then there is not going to be a massive shift. The speed can be improved, but I don't see a secret formula to launching Kotlin like a rocket otherwise until it just gets enough mass on its own. And that's ok. It's a long victory and marriage, not one night stands.
