Frankly, every software, library or framework, even at version 60 and maintained by a big company will have issues, bugs, performance problems, etc. If you can or cannot use it in production environment is not a property of a version number, but rather if you can test it for your use case, and if it works for you. Ktor works for us, works for some other people, in production. For some people not so much and we are fixing whatever we encounter and when people are cooperating to help us reproduce an issue. I don’t think it is much less “production ready” than many other microframeworks out there.
