Even driving load from one separate machine + localhost, I can't get the CPU usage on the host machine to go above around 60%. I'm not sure where the bottleneck is -- its not network or I/O (logging off, i/o wait is negligible) or GC at the JVM level (GC % is very low, no old gen collections). System % runs around 25%, user runs around 35%.
