All three of those libraries have Google employees as maintainers. So are they all officially-supported? The volley pages are from like 2013 and no one wants to delete it because when someone suggests things like that it inevitably devolves into needing to replace it with something else. It's why the documentation is filled without outdated recommendations all over the place, because it's not easy to remove something even if it's bad advice.
