I figured it out, deep in the default login activity code was an implementation of onCreateLoader. The kotlin converter assumed to set its arg bundle as not nullable so it generated override fun onCreateLoader(i: Int, bundle: Bundle): Loader<Cursor>, just had to change bundle to be Bundle?
