The way I got started learning Kotlin was to take a Java file I'd written and auto-convert it to Kotlin. Then, try to write it yourself, only looking at the auto-converted file when you get stuck.

Keep in mind that the auto-converted file won't be "perfect" kotlin, but you will pick up the subtleties as you write more.
