Background is the following: we're starting a new large project and have to select a language (prototype is in Python). We're a small company and can't afford to bet on the wrong language, so to speak. (We've been bitten before by this.) So for us it would be a major plus to Kotlin if we knew that if Kotlin doesn't pan out we could downgrade to Java.
