@mbickel: re: Regex, the support for both Java and JS is very appealing to me (even if no better than Matcher). e.g. It would be nice to have a validation util that can be used both on the client side (JS form validation) as well as server side (validation within REST service handling web form submissions as well as API requests). @ilya.gorbunov Do you know of anybody working on validation tools like this?
