For sure, not lots of users will feel that performance penalty, but my point is that not lots of users will feel need in writing custom operators as well.

What about this? If users would need to write own operators that often, we’d just add higher-level human-friendly api for that to RxJava, no problem here, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.
