Still no plans to have a StringTemplate type ? (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/KT-24882).
I think a very nice use case is interop with Javascript (tagged) template strings, so we could have nice wrappers around the recently released lit-html for instance (https://www.polymer-project.org/blog/2019-02-05-lit-element-and-lit-html-release)
