not a joke, or not sure why you would think it was, @umar... there was (pre 1.0) a language proposal to add an "emit" operator, or "hat" operator

and it did not happen. But now the style of the IDE hint for the same thing is using the hat

, so I was wondering if it was a slow way to return towards the idea of having that operator in Kotlin.
