Lambdas, extension methods and more was brought into C# with the help of LINQ. Lambdas with receivers were brought into Kotlin with the help of DSLs (builders). If one can show a number of frequent problems (in normal business programs) that can be solved with partial function applications, that could be a motivating example for a language feature.
