I kinda understand his point. I'm not a Haskell pro, but I suspect that changing one line in haskell could break your whole program because of the massive type inference. but kotlin is far far away from that. I agree with him that it's all about the balance but IMO Kotlin is much closer to the "balance point" that Java.
