08/18/2016, 12:00 AMTo be fair, a lot of the current curious individuals coming into FP are coming in from the practical imperative / procedural standpoint and not the functional / academic foundations, so they're bringing in some assumptions to the table that they simply aren't aware of; little biases in how they think of software and code that they eventually will learn to consider in a different light as their horizons expand. So, yes, I believe the generational argument has some (small) weight. 😉
