https://www.coinbase.com/careers/ Coinbase is hiring! This has been the most fun 6 months of work since Pulse news (~10 years ago) and a mid-career contract at Keepsafe. What I value most is the company invests heavily in the learning and development of employees and empowering experimentation. The first 3-4 weeks of work is going through an educational program to help onboard you to crypto and CB eng&values, as well as build relationships with folks across the company. We just wrapped up a 3-day company-wide hackathon. Employees are enabled to pitch projects that are the equivalent of launching small startups (eg USDC was proposed by an IC and is the pre-eminent stablecoin with $2.7 billion in circulation). From the very top we have execs that lead by example in taking 1 week off per quarter. Most folks on my team will occasionally broadcast out that they'll be working an earlier schedule or a later schedule to accommodate for family or hobby. Flexible work hours are a reality and you will be supported. Key points: • Remote anywhere in the US. Can possibly join full-time via the UK, Germany, Japan, Philippines, and Singapore. It's possible to join as a contractor through Canada. It's worth letting a recruiter know where you'd like to be even if the country is not available yet. • If you want to return to working in an office, we have offices in SF, NYC, Portland, Dublin, Berlin, and London (see https://blog.coinbase.com/post-covid-19-coinbase-will-be-a-remote-first-company-cdac6e621df7 on the roadmap to decentralize new offices) • Hiring for T-shaped engineers with great depth in one area and the ability to go broad. Go+Typescript are used heavily across most teams. Kotlin, Swift, and React Native are used depending on which mobile team. We're keeping a close eye on Kotlin Multiplatform on Wallet. • Interview process: recruiter phone screen, 45-min eng phone screen, second round consisting of 4 technical sessions and one bar raiser. There might be one session with a virtual whiteboard; everything else should be on a virtual coding environment. No trick questions. Format is designed to identify both strengths and areas for growth. Happy to jump on a quick chat with anyone interesting in learning more about Coinbase or just jumping into cryptocurrency in general. We're hiring across Retail, Commerce, Wallet, and Custody teams.
