It's hard to put a number for equity unless you are a publicly traded company. Private companies can go bust anytime (From my past experience, multiple times). So if anyone joins a company with a high hope of equity turning into a windfall some day, they might be in for a rude awakening. Same for bonus. Unless it's specifically laid out in the offer letter, the company can simply say no bonus this year because you didn't hit the OKR 🙂 (also from past experience, multiple times). So salary is the only guaranteed number people should look at. Since I got burned so many times, this is probably the only metrics matters to me 🙂 YMMV.
