I think with Gradle the wrapper script will look for downloaded gradle installation and launch that other use wrapper to download. I haven't checked the details but only thing that would work is if wrapper batch file checks for certain return code and then relaunches the program and another return code may mean overwrite with downloaded files and relaunch.
