We were also impacted by this empty KotlinTasks trick which is not user friendly, see https://github.com/Kotlin/dokka/issues/217. Maybe it could be possible to define an easier configuration principle that does not require guru magic between KotlinTasks + classpath + sourceDirs + sourceRoot.
