Main question is: are there any plans to make it multiplatform (usable on the client side)? I see an issue but no answers.

I've heard of it being used on Android, but not sure about multiplatform 🤔 . Given you need a special plugin just to use java.time, I imagine multiplatform was at least a design consideration.

Since it leverages JDBC I doubt it is feasible on short term.
