There seems to be something going on with IDEA's Kotlin plugin and gradle builds. Frequently, after IDEA gets done doing background processing, like indexing, you will see the "Kotlin is not configured" warning when you open a Kotlin file. If you then re-import the gradle configuration, the warning goes away and all is fine.
