However, I have an initial white map that I have to refresh first via popup->refresh and I try to find out how to do this programatically. This was a greta post because I learned a few thing where I asked me how this is done in Koltin and TornadoFX. It made click when I saw that you simply added the function googlemapview and added it to the root. Great example
