Generally, be good at not just JavaFX but applying and integrating it. Know how to make different JavaFX controls talk to each other through well-planned event handlers (I really prefer Rx for that stuff but obviously that won't fly if I put it in ControlsFX). I really wish I had a better answer so I hope that helps.
