Great now I discovered that gradle version that has this https://github.com/gradle/gradle/commit/d1e5985360e01dbda1b95cdf2deaba8219cda9b1 so that I could finally use plugin{} syntax with snapshot plugins so that I could have autogenerated accessors ALSO forces this https://github.com/gradle/gradle/commit/76d06fd665d905eeca86bf6aa4df236f66dae284 AND the future gradle version that will allow me to disable will be gradle 5, which will never be compatible with the the plugins I need...
Really awesome, now I'm completely out of sane options
