@holgerbrandl: thanks for asking. The answer is that we simply haven't made any decisions or long term plans about this. Gradle Script Kotlin is brand new, and for us the most important thing is to get feedback and validate we are in fact building something users want. Indeed, even if Kotlin-based Gradle build scripts become wildly popular, we will still have every reason to support Groovy-based scripts for quite a while.
