I'm still struggling with this issue...
IntelliJ's Android Plugin isn't as up-to-date as the plugin for Android Studio, and if I want to use Android Studio, it's still not possible to ignore all of the unresolved reference errors (Someday there might be a "real" unresolved reference error). Even trying the Canary build didn't make the problem go away.
