This problem of needing a restart/reimport to fix IDE issues has plagued software development since at least the advent of Eclipse. In fact it is almost muscle memory to resolve “weird” IDE situations by using a restart. I like that IntelliJ makes it easy to report some glitches but I would love to see a mechanism to report “weird behavior encountered and fixed by a restart” incidents to JetBrains.
