Pretty confusing using the platform word with the APIs when all of them are to do with an OS. Ucs don't come with a OS, and using a OS on them is very uncommon. Often find the generic platform word being overused/overloaded. Ucs themeselves are a platform (differs by the type of CPU used) but unlike the mobile and desktop platforms it doesn't require an OS.
